Transparency is crucial for the future of Sustainable fisheries in order to eliminate Illegal, unreported or unregulated fishing practices and be able to trust the quality of the products. The modern consumer therefore expects proof of origin to be available on request. At Pacifical, it is crucial that your tuna can be traced we can follow our tuna all the way from ocean to the fishing vessel to producer all the way to your supermarket shelf.

We invest in verification because we know this is crucial within the complex tuna supply chains. Our central digital platform can respond within seconds to urgent data requests, such as trace-backs and mass balance overviews.

We register exactly how much of our MSC certified fish ends up on the final market.

We check how much is produced from every fishing trip and compare this to the volume of fish caught.

Pacifical would be able to facilitate integration and advise advice which processors are able to produce a specific packaging size, characteristics or other added value components.

  3. Please note the owner of the fish would need to provide PNA office with Bill of Lading for verification of consignee and MTCB issuance.
  4. There is no Pacifical service fee charged for this partnership.

Thank you for considering trading MSC certified Pacifical tuna, this is how you can start:

  1. This category corresponds to a company that is a subsidiary / sales office / exclusive trade partner of a processor or an independent company working with a co-packer (s).
  2. First step would be to determine which party will be reporting to Pacifical.
  3. Next step would be to request an MOU from Pacifical. To review it, please send us a request to cynthia@pacifical.com specifying your category “Subsidiary / Exclusive trader / Contractee of a co-packer (Type C3)”, please note MSC Chain of Custody is required. The name and the MSC COC number of the packer you will be using should be included.
  4. You are now ready to source and process MSC certified Pacifical tuna!
  5. Source MSC Pacifical raw material or loins. Pacifical will assist with supplier introductions.
  6. Pacifical Atuned Login details (Pacifical tracking system.) are created and provided.
  7. Pacifical will set up the logistics, traceability (Documentation + Reporting) and downgrading training.
  8. Any MSC certified Pacifical tonnage (raw material or loins) that is to be moved and/ or sold to any buying party, should be reported to Pacifical within 30 days after dispatching. If sold as MSC, client must be under MOU to buy Pacifical raw material or loins.
    • Pacifical will be notified on any MSC certified Pacifical tonnage that has been downgraded to be sold as non-MSC, specifying the exact downgraded kilograms, the precise MSC trip certificate batch number involved, date of downgrade and to confirm that all concerned lots / bins in store have been marked as being non-MSC.
  9. Sales contract is registered in the Pacifical Atuned System (Pacifical tracking system.)
  10. All artwork and label designs should be provided to Pacifical for approval. It must meet the Pacifical labeling guidelines.
  11. Processor to upload the following documents (unless otherwise agreed) :
    • PNA MSC Certificate ( on the tuna used for the loaded production codes )
    • Bill of lading
    • Invoice with Final Market – End Customer
    • Production code list [Each code should be linked to an MSC trip number.
  12. Pacifical will invoice its service fee (2%) only after your company has received payment from the final client on final product. Pacifical Fees are never charged on invoice price between processors and its subsidiaries, sales offices or exclusive trade partner in order to avoid relation to price transferring, the invoice to be used will be the one with the final client in the final market.
Trader Final Product (Type C2)

  1. This category corresponds to companies which core purpose is to be a distributor, Broker, Importer of labeled product for final sale.

  5. If brand to be imported is not your own brand, a “Terms of Service” should be sent to the final buyer.
  6. There is no Pacifical service fee charged for this partnership. The fee will be paid by the processor who sold the product (final processor)
Trader Raw Material / Semi Processed (Type C1)

  1. This category corresponds to companies which core business is to be a distributor, Cold storage, Broker, Importer of raw material / loin trader.
  2. First step would be to request an MOU from Pacifical. To review it, please send us a request to cynthia@pacifical.com specifying your category “Raw Material / Loin Trader (Type C1)”, please note MSC Chain of Custody is required.
  3. You are now ready to source and process MSC certified Pacifical tuna!
  4. Source MSC Pacifical raw material or loins. Pacifical will assist with supplier introductions.
  5. Pacifical Atuned Login details (Pacifical tracking system.) are created and provided to the processor.
  6. Pacifical will set up the logistics, traceability (Documentation + Reporting) and downgrading training.
  7. Sales contract is registered in the Pacifical Atuned System (Pacifical tracking system.)
  8. Any MSC certified Pacifical tonnage (raw material or loins) that is to be moved and/ or sold to any buying party, should be reported to Pacifical within 30 days after dispatching. Client must also be under MOU to buy Pacifical raw material or loins.
    • Pacifical will be notified on any MSC certified Pacifical tonnage that has been downgraded to be sold as non-MSC, specifying the exact downgraded kilograms, the precise MSC trip certificate batch number involved, date of downgrade and to confirm that all concerned lots / bins in store have been marked as being non-MSC.
  9. Processor to upload the following documents :

Repacker of Final Product (Type B4)

Thank you for considering processing MSC certified Pacifical tuna, this is how you can start:

  1. If you are a repacker of final product, you are relabeling an already packed final product (i.e tuna can, vacuumed pack tuna steak, pouch etc.)
  2. First step would be to request an MOU from Pacifical. To review it, please send us a request to cynthia@pacifical.com specifying your category “Repacker of Final Product (Type B4)”, please note MSC Chain of Custody is required.
  3. You are now ready to pack MSC certified Pacifical tuna!
  4. Pacifical Atuned Login details (Pacifical tracking system.) are created and provided to the processor.
  5. Pacifical team to arrange discussion on monthly reports with production code and MSC trip number link. Pacifical team will need to record final destination of the consumer units being repacked.
  6. All artwork and label designs should be provided to Pacifical for approval. It must meet the Pacifical labeling guidelines.
  7. There is no Pacifical service fee charged for this partnership. The fee will be paid by the processor who sold you the product.
Trader Final Product sourced from partner (B3)

Thank you for considering processing MSC certified Pacifical tuna, this is how you can start:

  1. If you are an intermediary processor or co-packer, you are delivering Fully-Processed Product (Vacuumed packed tuna steaks, tuna in cans, pouch, glass jar etc.) to a Pacifical MOU partner and / or a Subsidiary / Sales Office or exclusive trade office. First step would be to determine which party will be reporting to Pacifical.
  2. Next step would be to request an MOU from Pacifical. To review it, please send us a request to cynthia@pacifical.com specifying your category “Intermediary Processor or Co-packer (Type B3)”, please note MSC Chain of Custody is required.
  3. You are now ready to source and process MSC certified Pacifical tuna!
  4. Source MSC Pacifical raw material or loins. Pacifical will assist with supplier introductions.
  5. Pacifical Atuned Login details (Pacifical tracking system.) are created and provided to the processor.
  6. Pacifical will set up the logistics, traceability (Documentation + Reporting) and downgrading training.
  7. Any MSC certified Pacifical tonnage (raw material or loins) that is to be moved and/ or sold to any buying party, should be reported to Pacifical within 30 days after dispatching. Client must also be under MOU to buy Pacifical raw material or loins.

  11. There is no Pacifical service fee charged for this partnership. Type B3 processors work directly with a type C3 partner;Subsidiary, Sales Office or exclusive trade partner of this processor. Pacifical Fees are never charged on invoice price between processors and its subsidiaries, sales offices or exclusive trade partner in order to avoid relation to price transferring, the invoice to be used will be the one with the final client in the final market.
Processor Final Product (Type B2)

Thank you for considering processing MSC certified Pacifical tuna, this is how you can start:

  1. First step would be to request an MOU from Pacifical. To review it, please send us a request to cynthia@pacifical.com specifying your category “Final Processor (Type B2), please note MSC Chain of Custody is required.
  2. You are now ready to source and process MSC certified Pacifical tuna!
  3. Source MSC Pacifical raw material or loins. Pacifical will assist with supplier introductions.
  4. Atuned Login details are created and provided to the processor.
  5. Pacifical will set up the logistics, traceability (Documentation + Reporting) and downgrading training.
  6. Processor will conclude contract with client. Final clients must have process the “Terms of Service” prior to buying the Pacifical product.
    • Any MSC certified Pacifical tonnage (raw material or loins) that is to be moved and/ or sold to any buying party, should be reported to Pacifical within 30 days after dispatching. Client must also be under MOU to buy Pacifical raw material or loins.
    • Pacifical will be notified on any MSC certified Pacifical tonnage that has been downgraded to be sold as non-MSC, specifying the exact downgraded kilograms, the precise MSC trip certificate batch number involved, date of downgrade and to confirm that all concerned lots / bins in store have been marked as being non-MSC.
  7. Sales contract is registered in the Pacifical Atuned System (Pacifical tracking system.)
  8. All artwork and label designs should be provided to Pacifical for approval. It must meet the Pacifical labeling guidelines.
  9. Processor to upload the following documents :
    • PNA MSC Certificate ( on the tuna used for the loaded production codes )

  1. First step would be to request an MOU from Pacifical. To review it, please send us a request to cynthia@pacifical.com specifying your category “Semi-Finished Product Processor (Type B2)”, please note MSC Chain of Custody is required.
  2. You are now ready to source and process MSC certified Pacifical tuna!
  3. Source MSC Pacifical raw material or loins. Pacifical will assist with supplier introductions.
  4. Pacifical Atuned Login details (Pacifical tracking system.) are created and provided to the processor.
  5. Pacifical will set up the logistics, traceability (Documentation + Reporting) and downgrading training.
  6. Processor will conclude contract with client. Any MSC certified Pacifical tonnage (raw material or loins) that is to be moved and/ or sold to any buying party, should be reported to Pacifical within 30 days after dispatching. Client must also be under MOU to buy Pacifical raw material or loins.
    • Pacifical will be notified on any MSC certified Pacifical tonnage that has been downgraded to be sold as non-MSC, specifying the exact downgraded kilograms, the precise MSC trip certificate batch number involved, date of downgrade and to confirm that all concerned lots / bins in store have been marked as being non-MSC.
  7. Sales contract is registered in the Pacifical Atuned System (Pacifical tracking system.)

Service Provider Fishing Company (Type A3)

  1. First step would be to request an MOU from PNA. To review it, please send us a request to cynthia@pacifical.com
  2. You are now ready to load MSC certified Pacifical tuna!
  3. Please note the owner of the fish would need to provide PNA office with Bill of Lading for verification of consignee and MTCB issuance.
  4. There is no Pacifical service fee charged for this partnership.

Fish Trading Company (Type A2)

Thank you for considering trading MSC certified Pacifical tuna, this is how you can start:

  1. You do not need an MSC Chain of Custody, PNA will subscribe your vessels under their umbrella.
  2. First step would be to request an MOU from PNAl. To review it, please send us a request to cynthia@pacifical.com
    1. If the fishing trading company will be co-packing and selling raw material, semi processed and / or final product, the packers with the respective MSC COC number should be included within MOU
    2. When using a container loading facility, please provide PNA office Bill of Lading for verification of consignee and MTCB issuance.
  3. Submit list of vessels and carriers with IMO number, flag state and Name of the Vessel
  4. Coordinate with PNA for the 8 week MSC COC training
  5. You are now ready to catch for MSC eligible tuna!
  6. Request for MSC trained observer and MSC Trip number
  7. Submit to PNA weekly catch reports (Report format is to be sent by PNA)
  8. Once the fish has been unloaded, receive MSC certificate if the catch complies with MSC COC parameters.
  9. There is no Pacifical service fee charged for this partnership.

Fishing Company / Group (Type A1)

Thank you for considering fishing for MSC certified Pacifical tuna, this is how you can start. You do not need an MSC Chain of Custody, PNA will subscribe your vessels under their umbrella.

  1. First step would be to request an MOU from PNA. Send us an email to cynthia@pacifical.com
    1. If the fishing company will be co-packing and selling raw material, semi processed and / or final product, the packers with the respective MSC COC number should be included within MOU
    2. When using a container loading facility, please provide PNA office Bill of Lading for verification of consignee and MTCB issuance.
  2. Submit list of vessels and carriers with IMO number, flag state and Name of the Vessel
  3. Coordinate with PNA for the 8 week MSC COC training
  4. You are now ready to catch for MSC eligible tuna!
  5. Request for MSC trained observer and MSC Trip number
  6. Submit to PNA weekly catch reports (Report format is to be sent by PNA)
  7. Once the fish has been unloaded, Receive MSC certificate if the catch complies with MSC COC parameters.
